Form
This is realist, animated advert. It is a realist ad because it basing what is happening on real life situations. They have made the advert like this so that they can relate to some people problems at home.
Style
The style of this advert is humouros, they have use an unknown animal to feature in this ad. Sometimes people would just use humans to talk about food products. I think this has been done to make the advert seem more unique.
Technical Methods
Lighting and Colour 
This advert is an animation that is about these unknown creatures enjoying Christmas. They have used candle which has been lit, the flame from the candle is yellow. this could be showing the audience that the boy is happy because he has got his new toy. In the background they have used daylight, sunset and nighttime 2 times. they have done this to show the audience that the character is hearing the the same thing all day each day. This is a Christmas based ad so they have used the typical red and green colours. this would make the audience recognise that it is a Christmas ad before they get through most of the advert.
Use of Cameras 

Camera shots used in this ad are; Extreme Close up, this has been used to show the audience that the animal is annoyed. Close up have been used to get to the extreme close up. i think this has been done to show us that the animal has been annoyed over and over again. Wide shot. this shot has been used to show us who is surrounding the main character and to show us that it is Christmas so there house has been decorated. this is showing the audience that they celebrate Christmas so they are making an effort to decorate the whole house.
Camera movements they have used are; Zoom, this has been used to show the emotion on the character face as time goes by.
Camera angles used in this ad are; P.O.V. this has been used to show us the little looking at his mum. or it is a Low angle, this may have been used to show the audience that she is not happy whilst her son has the toy.
Editing
This advert has a normal pace until it gets near the middle. This has been done to show the audience that their day has started off normal. Cuts, this has been used to show us that they are changing days and it is giving time for the audience the audience to see that the day are changing.
Sound
In this advert they have used a Christmas song (oh Christmas tree) as the background music. This has been done to show the audience that they are sticking with the Christmas theme. There is also a small amount of dialogue. this has been done to make the audience think it is normal advert when they just talk about the product. They also used an elephant sound effect. This has been done to show us that the toy makes an annoying sound.
Selling Techniques
This advert uses humour to advertise the brand, they have used a mother trying to use the product being advertised getting annoyed by her son. This is memorable ad because it uses real life situation that may happen to certain people. Also they made the character in this advert use and eat the product they are trying to sell. At the end they use the slogan 'That Good Stuff'.
Characteristics of Products
This advert has unique selling point because they are using a real life situation, Some adverts do this because they want the ad to come across as more realistic. This ad is creating a strong identity brand because they are using unknown animal to advertise there brand.

This is a realist animated advert. It is a realist ad because it basing what is happening on real life situations on a day to day basis. They have made it like this so that they can get the audiences attention.
Style
This advert has a dramatic effect. It uses a little girl that gets hit by a car which causes her to have a broken neck and bruises, This is showing the audience that this advert will be about something serious so they would want people to pay attention throughout so that the message comes across.
Technical Methods
Lighting and Colour
This advert is a animation so the audience would think it is going to use bright colours but through out the advert dull faded colours. This would show the audience that the advert is not going to be a upbeat one. At the start of the ad the little girl is surrounded by clouds that uses cold colours blue/grey in the middle. I think this has been done to show the audience that a bad thing happened to her only. This cloud has warm colours orange and yellow, as the ad goes on it shows the flashback of when she was happy crossing the road but as she get closer to the edge of the road the lighting goes from bright colours like yellow/orange to dark blue and black. This has been done to show that at first you can be happy but then i can quickly change into the opposite feeling. As she is standing there car car goes past shining its car light most cars have yellow lights but it is a warm colour so this could telling the audience that the person in the car was happy before hitting the girl. Once the flashback goes away you can see the little only surrounded by colours like dark blue, dark red and grey. As she stands there in shock of what she remembers 3 kids her age walk pass with Hi Vis Jackets(which are bright yellow) on also as they are walking the words 'DRESS BRIGHT and BE SEEN' appears in yellow.As the kids are walking away they are taking all the brightness with them and leave the other girl in darkness making her not able to see anything. They have done this to show the audience that bright colours should be worn when it is dark.
Use of Cameras
Camera shots used in this ad are, Wide shots, this has been used to show the audience what the character looks like or was they are wearing. They also use this shot to show what surrounding the character. Close up, this shot has been used to show the emotion on the characters face. In this shot the character has fear and shock on her face. This could make the audience shocked as well because this scene happens within 2 seconds.  
Camera movements they have used are; Zoom, this has been used to focus on the characters facial expression as something is happening to her. Tracking, this has been used to show the audience that the characters body movements during the advert. Pan, this has been used to audience the characters facial expression as they are looking at something in this case she has shock and fear on her face as the camera turns you see what she is looking at which is her getting hit by a car.
Editing
This advert has a slow pace. I think they have done this to make the audience focus on what is happening throughout the advert. This is supposed to make the audience gain extra knowledge about crossing the road. Fading, this has been used to show us that the flash back is over and that they the character is back to reality.
Sound
This advert has sound effects and dialogue. Sound effects that have been used are moving cars, car horn, children talking and a bicycle wheels moving. They have used these sound effects to show the audience where the are and who it involves. In the dialogue it is a male voice he it reciting a poem in one tone. The poem is about the girl what happened to her and what others did to avoid her situation. I think has been done to have a scary effect, I think they want the audience to be scared about the characters situation so that they do something else so it wont happen to them.
Selling Techniques
This ad is creating an emotional response because they are using a young girl that looks innocent getting hit by a car. Also they are using a poem as main sound of the ad, not many adverts do this so they will make a memorable advert. This advert is targeted to kids and parents because of the characters they use and the product that they want people to buy.
Characteristics of Products
This ad has a unique selling point because it uses a young girl getting hit by a car to prove a point about what happens on a daily basis. This ad is trying to advertise to kids/parents to be safe on the road to do this they need to by a special jacket to wear in the dark. Even though this advert does sell the product they want the audience buy.

This is an anti-realist advert. It is anti-realist ad because this would not happen in a real office. They have made the office workers dance and move around the building also they have made them do a dance routine from diffenent rooms (this is impossible for 7 people to do the same dance from different rooms)
Style
This is advert has a humorous effect on the audience because they made up a silly dance routine that will make the audience remember the advert, they have also used a song which not many people will know and because of the lyrics they will remember the song and the advert.
Technical Methods
Lighting and Colour 
This advert is in an office with all blinds that are open so daylight is coming through, because it is bright outside this might be showing the audience that they are happy maybe because they are getting chocolate or because it is an ad about chocolate. They have made the characters in the ad wear jumpers that have the colours purple,yellow, blue, red, brown, pink and orange. this has been done to show the audience that the company sell different flavour chocolate. by doing that they are widening the amount of customer they get because they have more that one type of chocolate bar. They have used the colour purple in the centre because this brand is well known for having a purple background. This would make the audience automatically know that the advert will be about this brand.
Use of Cameras 

Camera shots used in this ad are; Long shots, this has been used to show where the characters are and where they are going. This could be showing the audience that they are in a unusual place to be advertising about chocolate or they could be showing the audience that this product is suitable to eat in the work place. Mid shot, this has been used to show the character and what is surrounding them. Close up, this has been used to show what the character are touching or showing specific body movements.
Camera movements they have used are Zoom, this has been used to focus on the features of characters. I think this has been done to make the audience look at what the character are wearing and where they are. Tracking, this has been used to follow where the characters are going. i think this has been done to show the audience that they are in an office building which wouldn't be used in a normal chocolate ad.
Camera angles that have been used are, High angles, this has been used to show the characters moving to different places.
Editing
This advert uses Cuts, this has been used to switch between location and characters. i think they have done this so that the shots fit in with the music. Fading, they have used this to show the final product at the end. I think they have done this to show the audience what the different types of chocolate bar the company have.
Sound
In this ad they have used the song ' Yes Sir I Can Boogie' by Baccara, this may have been used because it is a fun song and it is catchy. Sound effects that have been used are keyboards, Phones and chairs. i think this has been done to show that they are in a office.
Selling Techniques
This advert is will be memorable to audience because they are in an office doing a dance routine which may be funny to a lot of people. This advert uses a song that has easy to remember lyrics. This doesn't usual happen so it will be easier to remember. 
Characteristics of Products
This advert has a creating a strong brand identity because it using it usual colours to advertise the brand. This ad has a unique selling point because it is showing the different types of chocolates they make which is showing the audience that are a company that make more than one type of chocolate.

Assignment 29.1

In this report i will be talking about how a music video can promote a song/album/artist/synergy/record label/range of media. I will be using six different examples and explaining how each are promoting these sectors.  

Promotion of particular song.
A single is released before the album is. There will either be a only an audio put online or there will be a music video posted. Some artist would have an audio and a video posted online. Ways a single can be promoted is by the artist performing live, for a award show, playing a clip of the song at the end of another song or by having the song featured in a movie or by the song being used for a game.
Nick Jonas- Close ft Tove lo

This music video is promoting the song because the song is called close. Nick Jonas has Tove Lo as his feature by doing this it makes the song seem more interesting. This song would be more popular to an audience because it has a feature. An advantage of having a feature is that they are both promoting each other. As shown in the video the artist is in a chair then eventually he move closer to something then moves away from it this goes on for a while. By the second part of the song Tove Lo sings her part then starts to move back and fourth at the same time as Nick Jonas but each they get near each other they are trying to touch each other but cant because they have moved backward, eventually their clothes start to disintegrate. I think they have done this to show that their clothes are in the way of them getting close to each other so the clothes have to go for them to get close. Nick Jonas is promoting himself and the song because they type of dancing he is doing is not what has done in previous videos, this would make the video promote the song because the audience want to watch it to see what he is doing eventually they will like the song cause the video is different.
Camera angles used in this video are Close up, this has been used to show the emotion on the artist face. This is an emotion filled song so they would need to have certain facial expressions to show this. Wide shot, this has been used to show the artist and what is surrounding him. P.O.V, this has been use to show the audience what the artist is seeing, because this is a feature song/video i guess they would want to show us what they are seeing.
Camera movements used in this video are; Tracking, this has been used to follow each move the artist makes. Zoom, this has been used to show that the emotion in their as they move or if they do certain body movements.




Promotion of the artists album.
Millie Small- My Boy Lollipop
An album is promoted by either the artist posting about it social media, they can play some of there single on the radio station. They can promote it by getting interviewed, they could name one of their singles on the album the name of the album etc.
This song was made in 1964, This song is promoting the album because of the name of the song and because of the lyrics. Through out the song at the start of each verse the singer says "my boy lollipop" and at the end when the song starts to stop. This is also promoting the artist album because all the songs on the album are linked on one topic. Usually some music video have a story, but because this is an old song/video she did not use one, most video made back then do not have a storyline.
Camera angles used in this video are Mid shot, i think this has been used because it is simple that does not need. whereas someone else could think that it has something with when it was made, some videos made in the 60s only use simple shots so that they just focus on the artist. Close up, i think this has been used to focus on the artist and to see her facial expression. Wide shot, this has been used to show the artist and her background dancers.
Camera movements used in this video are; Tracking, this has been used to show where artist is moving to next in the scene.


Promotion of artist.
Adrian Marcel- My Life

This music video promotes the artist because as shown in the video that was released in 2013. This artist is promoting this type of music in my opinion. This is an RnB artist, i think that he is trying to bring back this type of music but still trying to keep it modern. This song was on the artists first mixtape. This video also promotes the artist because it is showing 3 different clips (found footage) in the video.
The first one is showing this artist singing the song live, i think they have done this to show listeners that he is a talented artist that can perform live and on a studio record not someone who just uses voice enhancers. The camera angles used in this clip are Close ups, this camera angle could of been used to show how passionate the artist is when performing and also by showing how the audience is familiar with the song. They have also used Wide shot, This has been used to show how the artist interacts with the audience and how the audience is interacting with artist and the song.
The second clip shown in the video is the artist in the studio, they might have been put in the video to show that this artist acts professional when working in the studio, this would make other producers want to work with him. Camera angles they have used are; Close ups, they have used this angle to show how that the person can play the instrument, Medium shot, they have used this shot to how that the artist and producers can work together professionally. For these two video they have been edited to be in black and white, i think they have done this to show that these videos are old but they are still relevant to be put into they video.
The last clip shown is the actual edited video, this could be trying to show us that the artist is able to do "commercial" videos. Camera angles they have used in this clip are; Low angles, Medium shots, they have used this angle to show what the artist looks like.
An advantage of the artist or any artist (new) having a music video is to have a wider audience. he would be showing people in countries all around the world his talent this could help this "new" artist perform in other countries. Another benefit of having a music video depending on the type of song it is one might be made to tell a story to the audience, even this video only has the artist in it this song is talking about his life with a girl.
Camera movements used in the video are; Hand held camera, this has been used because they are in a casual place. Tilt, i think this has been used just for a effect.




Promotion of and synergy with another media product.

Will Smith- Men In Black
Synergy is when two media sectors come together for one final project.
This music video is a promotion of synergy with another media product because it is for movie 'Men In Black'. the song is performed by Will Smith who is also the main character in the movie. This music video is helping to increase the film success because the lyrics of the song are all references to what the movie is about, if someone heard the song before watching the movie by going on what is said in the song they might want to watch the movie later on. Also by using the main character of the movie for the song will make the movie and the artist more popular ensuring that the audience would buy they song and the movie. In this video they have clips of the movie and clips for the song.
This video also has a dance routine, this is promoting the movie/song more because the more watch this video wanting to do the dancing it will make them think if they have dancing in the movie making them want to watch it.The different camera angle used in this video are Close ups, this angle has been used because they want to show the audience that the characters in the movie would be working hard to find out what is going on, they have also used this angle to show the emotion on the characters faces. Mid shot, this has been used so that you can see what someone is doing and how they are interacting with other people. High angle, this has been used to show the audience a full view of what everyone is doing. Low angles, they have used this so that they are showing that these people are powerful. In this video they are showing clips of the movie.
Camera movements used in this video are Zoom, this has been used so that the audience can focus on what is about to happen. Tracking, this has been used to show the different types of objects they have in this video. This could make the audience feel like this is an extra part of the movie not just a music video.








Increasing income for record label. 
Young Money- Bed Rock
This would increase the income for the record label because it in this song they have put all of the artist that are signed/own the record company in the video and most of the artist have a verse in the song. Usually record label wouldn't do this because they might want each of they artist to have the independent look. I think this has been done to promote certain artist and to show people that they have good performers that are signed only to that label. Also i think that they are  This song was released in 2009 since then the main artist like Drake, Tyga, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne have made a lot of money. the record label may have done this to promote the company, they could be showing all these talented artist to show new artist that they are the best and they should get signed to that label. also they all act like a family. a year later Nicki Minaj had put this song onto her album 'Pink Friday'. The different camera shots that have been used in this Music video are Mid shots, they have used this shot to show the artist and where they are. Long shots, they have used this to show all/most of the people that have something to do with the record label. They have used this shot to how what the house they are filming looks like. Close up, this shot has been used to show the different objects they have in the house. this could be showing the audience that they are label that make a lot money so they can buy expensive things. High angle, this has been show what they are doing.
Camera movements that have been used are; Tracking, this has been used to follow the artist to see where they are going. Zoom, this has been use to show that artist facial expression/ body movement and household items.
 


Increasing range of media artist.
Jordin Sparks- Double Tap
This artist is increasing range of digital media and social networking sites. Jordin Sparks is a well known singer in the US, instead of her usual videos she in this video she has been using her phone to record herself and has used it to post on Instagram, she has also made the other features in the video to use they phone to look at what she has posted on Instagram. Advantages of using a social media site in your video would help to advertise that site and also it would also help to promote the artist on that site. It is also showing that they are active on that site and they could use regularly.
Camera angles used in this video are Close ups, they have used this angle because they want to show the emotion in the artist and they want to show what they are using in this video. Wide shots, this has been used so that they can show the audience what they look like and what is surrounding them, i think they have done this in some scenes to make us feel like we are there with them. They have also used dark lighting this would also make us feel like we are there with them as well. Mid shot, this shot has been used so that we are able to see. Through out the video warm lighting has been used this has been done so that the video comes across a fun.
Camera angles used in this video are; Hand held camera, this has been done to show that the artist is using a social media site Where you have to use your camera. Zoom this has been used to show the audience that they are getting closer to something and the emotion on their face. Pan, this has been used to show all angles of the artist and what she is doing.
