Introduction to media

I have chosen You Don't Know My Name- Alicia keys
the camera angles they have used are long shots, mid shots, close ups,  two shots, low angle, high angles. These shots are showing the artist POV and what is going on around her and what she is doing.
Frequently used shots in this music video are close ups, this is used because they want to see the emotion on the persons face whilst something is happening to them. another one is long shots, this has been used because they want to show the audience.

week 1

I have watched the horror film insidious, this move uses the typical codes and conventions like; lighting- in the movie from the start the fade into black and uses dark lighting until they actual movie starts( showing the title of the film), it is mostly set at night. Characters- in the movie it has a family that move into a new house, also there are 3 other character that come along later in the film and ghosts. Setting/Locations- in the movie they have based it mostly inside of the house. Sound/Music in the start of it is silent with something that sounds like wind or could just be high pitch noise that gets louder until the title of the name appears. Throughout the movie it has a lot of silent parts and then parts where they play happy music to make the audience feel like they everything is ok. This movie has typical scenes that you would usually see in most horror movies with a family; the child is has the ghost in them or is following them. The unusual thing about this movie is that the father had the ghost in him as a child but got rid of it them the same ghost came back to haunt his child and you find out that some people have been linked to each other for years. This makes the movie more unique once you understand everything that has happened.
